Record sales for OPTEL’s 2020 fiscal year
Québec City, Canada, Sept. 20, 2021 – Thanks to its forward-thinking investment strategy and rising demand for its world-renowned expertise, OPTEL, a global leader in supply chain traceability and vision inspection, ended its 2020 fiscal year with a 45-percent increase in sales to the North American Life Sciences sector and a solid plan for continued growth.
OPTEL has significantly increased its delivery and installation capacity and boosted its workforce in recent months, with plans to hire an additional 90 employees worldwide by the end of 2021 to respond to growing demand for its traceability and vision inspection solutions. The new hires will mainly be in the operations, engineering and service departments.
The company has also invested heavily in R&D and an operational excellence program to add new features to its solutions, boost performance and introduce new technologies to optimize the world’s supply chains. In addition, it has dedicated $70 million since 2017 to develop its Intelligent Supply Chain (ISC) platform, a powerful traceability ecosystem that will help businesses in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage and agrochemical industries, among others, to improve their performance while gaining supply chain visibility.
“We are now seeing the fruits of our efforts, with global sales and orders increasing in every part of the world, especially in North America,” said Louis Roy, president and founder of OPTEL.
Most notably, the company increased its sales of traceability solutions to the North American life sciences industry by 45% in 2021 compared to 2019-2020 (YOY performance).
